Hi Joe, I recently had a similar thought about how did Paul have such a deep love and affection for the churches he planted??? It came to me that many of the letters were written from prison. Not only did Paul have time on his hands but I am Certain GOD filled Paul with Love for the people and places Paul had ministered. I imagine GOD took Paul to those people and places, Filling Paul with Love and Joy. GOD was working for good through Paul’s imprisonment!!! Maybe??? Prison was a break to Reinvigorate, Renew and Restore Paul. I believe, Paul even mentions, that, his imprisonment, was for the good of those he was writing, I wonder if Paul could have conceived, the impact his letters would have for thousands of saints and for thousands of years. This makes me consider ,the extent of the impact, GOD Wills to work through HIS Love and affection in and for me?

I love your blog, Joe. Pride is the most insidious of sins and as you say, it is the one that is glorified in our American culture. My wife is like Laina, she says my three favorite words are “I was wrong”. I think you’ve said the same thing in one of your sermons. We, men, seem to have a problem with pride.
