We want to believe that comfort, convenience and happiness are our birthright, promised by God and guaranteed by the Constitution. “Make me happy,” we pray to God. “I want to make you holy, good, and strong” God answers. So let’s see if we can understand how God uses suffering to achieve His purposes in our lives.
How do you survive low moments? What sustains us through the struggles of life? Loneliness, weakness, temptation, criticism, suffering, sickness? His love is enough. His acceptance is enough. His approval is enough. It’s enough to save you. It’s enough to keep you going. It’s enough to get you through this. It’s enough to satisfy you. It’s enough to sustain you. It’s enough.
The doctrine of hell is uncomfortable for all of us! But it’s an unavoidable part of the big picture of eternity. Jesus talked about it seriously and frequently as a real/terrible end.
